Twists and Turns Banner

Twists and Turns® Newsletter is a quarterly newsletter published by Big Sky Knitting Designs, LLC and edited by Janet Szabo. As its name indicates, the focus is on cable and Aran knitting.


Each issue is packed with patterns for sweaters and accessories (including full-color photos), technical articles, and book and product reviews. Prior to 2008, issues were 20 pages each; beginning with the Spring 2008 issue, they will be 24 pages each.

Issues are mailed to subscribers four times a year in February, May, August, and November.

  • Individual back issues are $5.00 each.
  • Each year's worth of issues is available as a Volume for $16.00—save $4.00 off the cost of 4 issues from the same year!
  • Back issues will be offered as digital downloads once all hard copies are sold out.

Designer Guidelines are available for designers who wish to submit ideas to Twists and Turns® Newsletter. Payment is commensurate with design difficulty. We welcome all submissions!


Mistakes sometimes happen. We post errata for any patterns as soon as they are bought to our attention.
